MARCH 7, 2001

At a stop in the Mexican state of Morelos, Zapatista leader Subcomandante Marcos on Tuesday criticized President Vicente Fox for not being honest about wanting to improve the state of the nation's indigenous people.

Marcos addressed a large crowd of supporters in Cuernavaca and praised early 20th century revolutionary leader Emiliano Zapata, whose fought for Indian land rights. The Zapatistas take their name from Zapata.

The Zapatistas are near the end of the so-called "Zapatour." They plan on arriving in Mexico City on Sunday.
