TUESDAY, AUGUST 14, 2001 Sixteen college students from 11 tribes are participating in 10-week program this summer focused on diabetes in Indian Country. The program is sponsored by the National Diabetes Prevention Center Southwest, Dine College, the Navajo Nation and Zuni Pueblo. Students undergo three weeks of training at Dine College and then go to reservations or clinics to help with diabetes research or health projects. The program is in its second year. Get the Story:
