Renal failure increasing in Indians

A doctor with the Indian Health Service on Wednesday said kidney diseases among American Indians are rapidly increasing.

At a conference in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dr. Andrew Narva, director of Indian Health Services Kidney Program, said that a high calorie diet leads to three deadly, linked diseases: Type II diabetes, hypertension, and kidney disease.
