Alternative treatment program being cut

JUNE 1, 2001 The Bush administration is cutting a Department of Housing and Urban Development program that used alternative treatment methods to help public housing tenants get off drugs and reduce stress. The $860,000 Creative Wellness HELP program uses meditation, color therapy, and aromatherapy, or the use of scents, as part of its treatment method. It was created under former Secretary Andrew Cuomo but it is being eliminated as part of a larger cut to a drug grant program. Get the Story:
