Navajo officer struck with hantavirus

JUNE 1, 2000 A Navajo Nation police officer struck with the hantavirus is receiving medical care at the Univeristy Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he was listed in critical condition on Monday. The Indian Health Service confirmed he was admitted to the Gallup Indian Medical Center over the weekend but was transferred to Albuquerque on Monday. Get the Story:
