MAY 4, 2000 The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe and conservationists in Nevada lost their appeal to stop a long-closed mine from dumping waste waters contaminated with cyanide and other toxics on the tribe's ancestral lands in the Northern Nevada desert.
