The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has voted unanimously to approve a $1.3 million settlement with Cosco Inc. over charges the company failed to notify the government of safety problems with several baby products.

The settlement will be announced today. It is the largest civil penalty imposed on a children's product company, said CPSC Chairwoman Ann Brown.

CPSC says Cosco knew of serious problems with its products, which have lead to at least two deaths. But while the company placed warning labels and made instruction changes to the products, they didn't notify the CPSC as required by law.

All the products have been recalled.
