The Indian Chicano Health Center in Nebrasks would be funded $300,000 under a provision approved on Tuesday by the State Legislature.

Minority health programs and research would receive a total of $4.2 million under a spending bill Legislature is considering. The funding comes in response to statistics which show that American Indians and other minorities in the state suffer disproportionately from diseases and health problems.

The money is coming from Nebraska's share of the tobacco master settlement. The state will be getting $1.2 billion over 25 years.
