Tribe extends same-sex benefits

FEBRUARY 21, 2001 The Mohegan Tribe on Tuesday said it will extend full health care benefits to same-sex and domestic partnerships for employees at its Mohegan Sun casino. The tribe says the progran will probably not affect many employees but that they want to be progressive. The tribe is planning to hire about 4,000 new workers as part of its casino expansion project.
