NOVEMBER 29, 2000 The appropriately named War on Diabetes symposium began in Omaha, Nebraska, on Tuesday, as tribal leaders and health care professionals gathered to discuss the epidemic facing Native people throughout Indian Country. Some attendees, in particular, came to see how the Winnebago Tribe is dealing with the problem. The conference lasts until Thursday. Get the Story:
