OCTOBER 12, 2000 The Connecticut state Department of Environmental Protection said on Wednesday dead crows with the West Nile virus have been found in six new towns. The birds were found in Branford, Brookfield, Deep River, Hebron, Old Saybrook and Willington. No spraying is planned. The West Nile virus is an virus transmitted to humans by mosquitoes, who are infected by biting birds with the virus. It can result in serious damage to the nervous system and the elderly and young are more susceptible. Get the Story:
