JUNE 20, 2000 The Amiskwaciy Academy, a new high school for Native students in Edmonton, will receive $2 million a year from the Alberta government to cover a lease on a new property. The school, which opens this fall, will be located in a preliminary site for the first year of operation, housing 300 students. After the new lease is finalized, 600 to 800 students will attend. Alberta's Learning Minister was on hand to announce the money at a conference on education held in Edmonton on Monday. Get the Story:
