NEWFOUNDLAND:
Two Indonesian villagers met with Innu residents to discuss mining. The two were impressed with the decision making process of the Innu, which involves everyone in the community. Both groups are seeking agreements with Inco over mines in their lands.

SASKATCHEWAN:
Aboriginal law experts say First Nations elders should share the bench with judges who make decisions about treaties. The judges need to understand more the aboriginal point of view, said one expert. A prior attempt was turned down.
