Peabody Coal's use of water in northeastern Arizona is again coming under fire from an environmental group that supports the Hopi Tribe.

The Natural Resources Defense Council released a new study which says the company is drawing too much water from the N-Aquifer. The aquifer is a water source for Hopi and Navajo communities.

Peabody continues to discount the group's claims. The company and the Hopi Tribe have been looking at potential alternatives for the water supply.

Peabody uses the water to transfer coal mined from the area to a power station more than 200 miles away.
