Native hunts find no walruses

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2001 Due to rough weather and a lack of prey, Alaska Native hunting crews have failed to turn up any walruses this year. Crews from the villages of Dillingham and Twin Hill went out last month to hunt for walrus. Both turned back without getting any. A crew from Clarks Point maanagted to get one, however. Dillingham, Ekuk, Aleknagik, Clarks Point, Manokotak, Twin Hills, Togiak and New Stuyahok share in 20 walruses that are allowed to be hunted each year. Get the Story:
