Tour to benefit bison group

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 29, 2001

Crosby, Stills and Nash (but not Young, apparently) are launching a 10-city concert tour to help benefit the Buffalo Field Campaign, a group which is fighting the slaughter of bison by Montana wildlife officials.

Under a settlement reached with the federal government, Montana officials are allowed to haze bison which wander out of Yellostone Nation Park. If any test positive for brucellosis, a disease which can threaten cattle, officials can kill the bison.

The tour will take CSN through Alabama, Texas, New Mexico, California, Washington and Oregon. It is being put on by the same people who did the Honor the Earth tour with Indigenous and The Indigo Girls.
