Tribe agrees to lake levels

FRIDAY, JULY 13, 2001 Sen. Conrad Burns( R-Mont.) on Thursday announced that the Salish-Kootenai Tribes, the federal government, and local industry have come to an agreement on water levels in Flathead Lake. A portion of the lake lies within the reservation. The tribe has been seeking adequate water to ensure protection of the endangered bull trout in Flathead River, which is below the lake.
