Kootenai Tribe denied grant

TUESDAY, JULY 10, 2001 The Idaho Department of Commerce has denied the Kootenai Tribe a $500,000 grant for construction of a waste-to-energy incinerator, a project which opponents say will pollute the environment. Opponents are going to meet with commisioners in Boundary County to register their complaints. The county commissioners had supported the tribe's grant. Get the Story:
