Endangered whale faces death

JUNE 26, 2001 An endangered North Atlantic right whale entangled in a fishing line off the coast of Massachusetts faces death if it is not rescued soon, say scientists. Scientists have attempted to free the whale, discovered more than two weeks ago off the southeastern coast of Massachusetts. But poor weather hindered their effort on Monday. Another attempt is being made today. There are about 300 known North Atlantic right whales in existence. Get the Story:
