MAY 25, 2001 Secretary of Interior Gale Norton has been on the job for a little over four months but that isn't stopping Denver Post reporter Mike Soraghan from asking her what she hopes will be her legacy. "I really want to move us toward a much more cooperative, innovative approach to environmental protection," she responded. Is anyone surprised? No. Conservation groups and property-rights groups both say Norton's performance over the past 100+ days or so is exactly what they have expected.
