One mining rule approved other delayed

MAY 18, 2001 Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao on Thursday approved implementation of a rule limiting diesel emissions from coal mining equipment but delayed another affecting emissions from other underground types of mining such as gold. The first rule will go into effect on Monday. The second will be delayed at least 45 days pending further review. Get the Story:
