Lake Superfund status being reviewed

MAY 15, 2001 Environmental Protection Agency officials on Monday said they are considering removing Lake Coeur d'Alene in Idaho from the Superfund list. The Coeur d'Alene Tribe says it would support such a removal. The tribe has been battling private companies to clean up the lake and the entire basin. The southern third of the lake is currently the subject of a Supreme Court case. Two courts have upheld the tribe's ownership but the state wants sole control. Get the Story:
