Will Norton change snowmobile ban?

APRIL 23, 2001 The way The Denver Post sees it, Secretary of Interior Gale Norton hinted on Sunday she will change recently finalized regulations that call for a phase-out of snowmobiles in national parks. Norton on CNN's "Late Edition," said the administration wants to make sure the views of snowmobile manufacturers have their say in the rule. The rule has been attacked by Republican lawmakers and Western Governors. In the eyes of Representative Barbara Cubin (R-Wyo.), the administration today will make the ban effective, at least in Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks. Get the Story:
