Fire picks up on N.M. reservation

APRIL 10, 2001 More than 400 firefighters on Monday battled a blaze on the Mescalero Apache Reservation in New Mexico. The current size of the fire was not known as of yesterday evening, reported The Albuquerque Journal. It started Sunday and had burned 2,000 acres by Monday. High winds are fanning the blaze, called the Turkey Well fire. Get the Story:
