In an interview with Indian Country Today, Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-Colo.) says the Alaska pipeline has helped wildlife in the state as evidenced by caribou warming themselves by it during the winter and resting under it during the summer.

With regards to drilling in the Arctic, Campbell says it will provide jobs for Alaska Natives and "provide more energy to get us away from the Iraqi energy." Campbell also states: "We are actually paying Iraq money and he [Saddam Hussein] is using that money to rearm and that is going to help kill more Americans in the future."

When the Iraqis will start killing Americans, or how they will kill them, is open for suggestion.
