Christie Whitman on Saturday said she will make sure the Environmental Protection Agency doesn't let drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge damage the environment.

If and when Congress opens up ANWR to development, Whitman said the EPA will ensure oil and gas development won't hurt the refuge.
