FEBRUARY 8, 2001 Oil developers have high hopes for opening up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to development with President George W. Bush presiding over a pro-development Cabinet which includes Secretary of Interior Gale Norton and Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham. The current energy crisis isn't hurting their chances either, they say. Congress would need to approve drilling and oil companies are actively lobbying lawmakers. Get the Story:
