Rocky Flats targeted for accidents

FEBRUARY 6, 2001 The nuclear bomb factory which Secretary of Interior Gale Norton has been praised for helping clean up during her tenure as Colorado's Attorney General is the target of four safety investigations following a number of accidents over the past nine months. The Department of Energy is conducting the incidents which occured at the Rocky Flats factory, including one in which workers inhaled radioactive plutonium. Kaiser-Hill Co., the private firm cleaning up the cllosed plant, might be the target of some of the investigations due to potential criminal or civil violations. Get the Story:
