Study looks at nation's bridges

FEBRUARY 20, 2001 An Associated Press analysis of federal records shows that 29 percent of the nation's bridges are deemed "deficient" by the government. The percentages of bad bridges range from a high of 65 percent in Washington, DC, to 40 percent in New York State to 18 percent in New Mexico.
