Couple opposes casino bridge project

FEBRUARY 15, 2001 A Preston couple is warning the Connecticut Department of Transportation not to come onto their property as part of a project to ease traffic between two tribal casinos. The couple wrote a letter to the DOT and said they will not allow any officials to enter their property as part of the project without a court order. The couple threatened that its electric fence would not be turned off, potentially shocking any trespassers. The state wants access to the couple's property as part of its project to build a bridge between the Mohegan Sun Casino and Foxwoods Resort Casino. The state also wants to construct a bypass road to alleviate traffic woes. Get the Story:
