The bison herd in Grand Teton National Park has a population of 560, 160 over its target population.

A recent bison hunt held by the state of Wyoming resulted in the deaths of 18, not enough to affect the entire population, said a park official. The state allows bison to be killed on federal forest land, private, and state land.
