DECEMBER 6, 2000 The Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday announced the gradual phase-out of a commonly used bug pesticide due to its potential health problems. While manufacturers who use the pesticide diazinon in their products have agreed to the removal, they say they aren't admitting to any health problems caused by it. The EPA says children especially are at risk to nausea, headaches, vomiting, diarrhea and general weakness. The companies have agreed to stop production of indoor products containing diazinon by March 1, 2001, and outdoor products by June 30, 2003. Get the Story:
