Shooting of coyotes dropped

Colorado state wildlife commissioners on Thursday promised not to shoot coyotes for at least in a year as part of a plan to protect dwindling populations of mule deer.

Environmentalists had opposed shooting the coyotes while a few had supported it, citing threats to livestock.
