Arctic drilling debated

Oil companies, environmentalists, and Alaska Natives presented widely divergent views on oil drilling in Alaska's North Slope in a two-day conference before the National Research Council.

The Council held the event at the request of Congress and is conducting an 18-month study of the effects of oil drilling.
