The water woes of the Kickapoo Tribe of Kansas were discussed at a meeting between tribal, federal, state, and environmental officials and experts.

The participants focused on finding immediate and long-term solutions to the tribe's water problems. They will begin by replacing a dam extension on the Delaware River.

The tribe is also looking to secure funding for the Plum Creek Watershed and the Pikitanoi Water Project. The tribe has faced drought conditions since the summer.
