Saying recovery efforts have been a success, Idaho Gov. Dick Kempthorne is calling for the gray wolf to be removed from the endangered species list.

Kempthorne on Monday wants the state Office of Species Conservation to help get the wolf delisted. But there is no clear indication of how to do that, said an adviser to the office.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife has been managing a recovery program with Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and the Nez Perce Tribe.
