MONDAY, MAY 6, 2002

Some students at the Colorado School of Mines weren't happy this past Friday when Secretary of Interior Gale Norton delivered their school's commencement address.

But the 2002 graduates held back their distaste for Norton and the Bush administration's environmental policies and didn't turn their backs on her as planned. Instead, they listened as she talked about the "new environmentalism" which she said involves building consensus about decisions rather than dictating them.
