Navajo school could lose BIA funds

Parents of students at Navajo Preparatory in Farmington, New Mexico, are worried the school could lose construction funds from the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Without $2 million in tribal funds to complete initial work, $10.8 million from the BIA for a second phase project could go unused. Navajo Nation President Kelsey Begaye vetoed the funds, and parents are hoping the tribal council will override it.
