WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2001 Alaska Native educators, parents, leaders and school officials have been encouraged to make changes for the future of their children, according to planners of an education summit held last week in Anchorage. The First Alaskans Foundation held the conference, called the First Alaska Native Education Summit. It addressed some of the long-standing problems affecting Native education and focused on providing solutions and encouraging people to get involved.
