In an editorial today, The Sioux Falls Argus Leader says schools in the state should get rid of Indian mascots and imagery imply because "they're offensive - not necessarily because it violates any law."

The paper's words come in response to a Department of Education decision to consider mascots in the state but only to the extent Native students feel harmed by them. But requiring the few Native students to come forward isn't "fair" to them, the paper says.
