MONDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2001 The First Alaska Native Education Summit was held in Anchorage on Friday, drawing hundreds of Native leaders, educators and parents to discuss the state of Native education in the state. Attendees commented on the poor education children are receiving. They vowed to make a committment to changing it, including instruction in Native culture, particularly language. Get the Story:
