Minn. tribe donating to college fund

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2001 The Shakopee Mdewankanton Sioux Community of Minnesota will donate $900,000 to the American Indian College Fund, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports today. The donation be made in annual installments of $300,000, according to the paper. The money will be used as a challenge grant for other tribes to build an endowed scholarship fund. The American Indian College Fund, started in 1989, provides financial support to more than 5,000 students at tribal colleges throughout the nation. Relevant Links:
