FRIDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2001 The Miller School Board in Miller, South Dakota, has canceled all sporting events against the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe, the Associated Press reports today. The decision came after local teens were involved in a shooting incident with members of the tribe's girls basketball team. Two juveniles are being charged with six counts of aggravated assault. The tribe and others in the Plains believe the incident was racially motivated. During a November 1 game between the tribe and Miller High School, witnesses reported racial taunts being shouted from the crowd. The animosity continued afterward, leading to the confrontation and the gun firing. The school board decision is in effect the rest of this year and the next year. Related Stories:
