Research published in today's issue of Nature discusses the discovery of water on distant comets, suggesting that life may be found in other solar systems.

But in these particular comets, located more than 3,000 trillion miles away from Earth, scientsts say no life exists there currently. Since the comets are orbiting a star which is slowly burning out, they are being slowly destroyed.

The scientists say such a phenomenon could happen in our solar system. As the Sun begins to die out, it will burn up the Earth's oceans, they say.
