Tongass Alaska Natives have begun a cleanup project aimed at preserving two totem poles in Ketchikan.

The poles were raised for Chief Johnson and Chief Kyan. The Chief Johnson pole was raised in 1989, a replication of the original 1901 pole. The Chief Kyan pole was raised in 1993, a replication of the one cared in the early 1990s.
