Omaha schools win grant

MAY 22, 2000 Two schools on the Omaha reservation in northeastern Nebraska have received a more than $1 million grant from the US Department of Education. The grant will allow the Walthill School District in Walthill and the Omaha Nation School District in Macy to open an after school program. The 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program grant will run for a total of three years; the first $388,074 comes this year.
