The Native American Education Advisory Council held its first meeting on Wednesday. Composed of Indian leaders and educators, including those from the Winnebago, Omaha, and Ponca tribes of Nebraska, the task force is charged with discussing Indian education.

Some of the problems raised at the first meeting were high dropout rates, the availability of competent teachers, low attendance.
