MAY 11, 2000 The director of the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center said he should have contacted the Narragansett tribe over an expedition the museum and a partner plan to make next week. The historic preservation officer of the Narragansett tribe had threatened legal action if the museum did not consult with the tribe over an archaeological expedition in Narragansett traditional land.
