APRIL 4, 2001 Archaeologists are becoming increasingly concerned about the future of site in Wyoming that could be 2,000 years old. The site was discovered by the Bureau of Land Management in 1992. The BLM was conducting a survey of a landfill near Riverton at the time. The landfill has grown enough that it is threatening the site, which archaeologists say is Shoshone. The site is so different from others that archaeologists believe it could reveal a different picture of how Shoshone and other tribes lived more than 1,000 years ago. Get the Story:
