FEBRUARY 26, 2001 Tribes throughout the country will be meeting March 7 and 8 in Omaha, Nebraska, to discuss how to preserve artifacts once they are repatriated to them. While many tribes have eagerly welcomed the return of ancestors and sacred objects, not all have the funds or the facilities to house them properly. Along with the Nebraska State Historical Society, the tribes will be looking for ways to obtain funding and expertise to become caretakers of items once taken from them. Get the Story:
